This multipurpose
design spins either a 3" (75 mm) or 5" (125 mm) OD catalyst basket with large diameter impellers up to 2,500 rpm in order
to circulate gases & liquids past solid catalysts. The multiphase reactor
design is used for time based, laboratory, high temperature & high pressure
supported, with gas / liquid / solid phase reactants. Use internal recycle
reactors & vary reaction time for catalyst activation, catalyst regeneration,
& catalyst life studies
A full range of apparatus used for catalyst research.
Carberry Spinning Basket Catalyst Reactor : Catalyst Testing Reactors
A versatile supported catalyst testing reactor with internal circulation.
FEATURES
Three different
pressure ratings between 2,450 to 5,800 psig (169 to 400 bar)
Two temperature
ratings 650°F & 1,200°F (343°C & 649°C)
316SS is standard;
other chemical / petrochemical resistant alloys are offered, (e.g.
HASTELLOY® C-276)
The design conforms
to the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII Division 1: An
ASME code stamp is optional
The basket & impellers
spin up to 2,500 rpm by a MagneDrive® magnetic drive
that eliminates dynamic seals
Retain the solid
catalyst in a spinning, woven wire mesh basket to allow gas / liquid
circulation with low pressure drop
Circulating the
reactants past the catalyst's active surface avoids wearing & breakage (attrition) for accurate scale-up
Optional process
control instrumentation measures & controls temperature, impeller/basket
speed & pressure
Obtain expert,
catalytic equipment advice from the manufacturer & ongoing support from
the local, factory approved supplier
High pressure reactor
equipment is delivered custom configured & after full functional testing
for fast & easy start-up
BENEFITS
The Carberry reactor is a single
gradientless device with the broad process capability for advancing the
science of heterogeneous catalysis with combinations of gas/ liquid reactants
& solid phase (supported) catalyst. This internal recycle reactor
can be used for diverse catalyst research including catalyst screening,
catalyst characterization, & surface chemistry studies. The leak-free
metal gasket design provides bench-scale catalytic synthesis capability
for scientific experimentation.
